New Blog

The old blog had a virus that caused pop ups. I'm not sure how, but in lieu of doing anything high tech, I'll just wander over here and continue blogging with a new blog. The other one is still there. I'm sentimental for it.

Over lunch with some friends the other day I remarked at how many lifetimes we have all lived in this town. We chuckled at the thought of our finest, worst, and somewhereinthemiddle moments that have gone down here - many in the place we were eating and drinking at that same moment. Ah, even my husband (who had cheerfully engaged in several days of girl talk with my friends at that point) paused at that comment - unusually reflective for a moment. He too, has lived several lives in this town. Some of the times we are relieved are lost in the past and some of the times we miss or romanticize. Some we can't remember. We carry the evidence of some of the lives forward through our compassions, our children, our ink, or our musical taste.

So it is with our blogs. How many lifetimes we have lived with each other in them! I started Run Lulu Run when I was still very much newly healing from an abusive relationship, still writing my dissertation, and felt like it was my JOB to be single forever. I look back to that time and feel so much lighter now. I have different causes, no homework, more wrinkles, I found a good guy, and I know more now than I did then, but I also know how, in just a few years a life can transform, and like the law of gravity, change will keep coming and we will all continue to transform.

All of this changes to come will be documented randomly from one woman's view in a pre-fab low-tech format here in Lulu's Lounge.

Happy New Year!
